Timothy "Tim"
Dean Hynes, Sr.
October 6, 1957 – July 1, 2021
Timothy Dean Hynes Sr., was the 9 th child born to Catherine Elizabeth Teschner and the 7 th child of Albert J. Hynes, Sr. Typical Irish catholic family, right? Who didn't love the one pot meals, the hand me downs and downs from the other "ones?"
His life wasn't easy. Yes, he (we) walked over a mile to school every day – even in the snow. He didn't have to climb mountains, but shit, some days it sure felt like it.
He spent hours at Sunset Pool. Literally, practice for the swim team was 7:00 am. Mom would give us a quarter and not expect us home until 5:00 pm. But we found mulberry, apple and apricot trees along the way, to which we helped ourselves.
He loved to play street baseball with Ronnie, Bob, Nancy and Patti.
Tim was not a mighty person in height. In fact, he was short and tiny. Damn good wrestler during his 6 months at St. Francis High School before he got expelled. Like his brothers before him. Hmmmmm indicative of a Hynes trait. After he went into the Marines, he told everyone that he was put on a stretch rack. He came out the tallest of 4 other brothers.
Some of the neighbors he grew up with described Tim as a firecracker. "No" was not in his vocabulary. The old saying "jump", and one says, "how high?" Tim was already on the roof.
This person I am talking about was kind, caring, strong and stubborn as hell. He lived his life without regrets. What he would say today is take a breath, breathe. This too shall pass. He would not want tears. So cheers to a father, grandfather, friend and little brother. And in the Irish tradition, clink a beer to him, until you meet again.
His legacy will live on through his wife, Weiwen Yuan; two sons, Timothy (Jenna) Hynes, Jr. of Solon Springs, and William (Jesse) Hynes of Hayward; daughter, Lacey Dorn of Idaho; grandchildren, Mathew, Lacy, Jack, Annie, and Addison; sisters, Patti (Steve) Gobetz, Nancy Diab, and Marie Hynes; brothers, Richie Hynes and Albert Hynes Jr.; good friend, Bud Cunningham; and his beloved dog, Rambo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Annie; and two brothers, Bobby and Ronnie.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, July 9, 2021, from 12-2pm at the Solon Springs Community Center.
Burial with military honors will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Solon Springs.
