Valerie J. Eastman, 78, of Superior, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

She was born in Superior on October 29, 1938, the daughter of Harvey and Pearl Bourdages.

Valerie ran a daycare out of her home and was a member of the Apostolic Church for many years.

She enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening, and sewing.  Most of all, Valerie loved her family and spending time with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Eugene Kirschbaum; and sister, Lorraine Kirschbaum.

Valerie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Daniel; children, Arlin (Nitavonne) Eastman, Council Bluff, IA, Bradley Eastman, Seward, NE, and Angela (Jeff) Juzwiak, Thorp, WI; step-children, Daniel Eastman, Jr., Superior, David (Charlene) Eastman, Superior, Thomas Eastman, Superior, Timothy Eastman, Olympia, WA, and Connie (Jeff) Johnson, Superior; brother, Wayne (Sandy) Anderson, Superior, and Thomas Anderson, Tucson, AZ; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and special caregiver, Watty Ross at Twin Ports Health Services, Superior.

Her visitation will be on Monday, June 19, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Apostolic Gospel Church, 3882 Haines Rd, Duluth, MN 55811.  Pastors, James Merrick, Scott Taylor, and Lincoln fry will officiate.

Burial in Summit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Valerie's grandsons: Daniel Macdonald, Joshua Macdonald, Richard Johnson, and Paul Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Valerie's grandsons: Matthew Eastman, Thomas Eastman, Derek Eastman, and Kody Eastman.
