Vernon G.
Bachand
September 28, 1932 – May 18, 2026
Vernon Bachand, age 93, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. Born on September 28, 1932, Vernon was the son of Vernon and Vera (Forest) Bachand and carried forward the strong values of family, perseverance, and craftsmanship throughout his life.
Vernon was a proud member of the military and the local Boiler Makers Union and spent many years working at Fraser Shipyards, where his strong work ethic and skill earned the respect of coworkers and friends alike. He also dedicated many years working within the Bachand family business, helping build a legacy grounded in hard work and determination.
Vernon loved to stay busy and was happiest when working with his hands. He enjoyed tinkering on projects, fixing things, and always finding something to improve or build. Whether in the garage, workshop, or helping family and friends, Vernon took pride in staying productive and solving problems. Those who knew him will remember his independent spirit, practical knowledge, and willingness to help others.
Vernon also loved to tease those around him and was always quick with a joke or playful comment. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed cheering on the team throughout the years.
Above all else, Vernon loved his family and took great pride in watching future generations continue the Bachand family tradition of entrepreneurship and hard work.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence Bachand, whom he cherished deeply throughout their life together.
Vernon is survived by Adam Bachand and Corey Bachand, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his guidance, humor, and steady presence.
Following Vernon’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held by the family.
