Veronica Katherine Levine, 90, passed away and has joined Christ, family and friends, January 28th, 2010. She had been a resident of the Wellstead of Rogers, Minn. in memory care over that past few years.

She was born August 8th, 1919, in Hibbing, MN, daughter of Thomas M. Basterash and Ethel J. Basterash. She was a middle child of 12 children. They were and are a loving and caring family.

Veronica is proceeded in passing by her mother and father; brothers, Thomas, Armand, and Stanley; sisters; Lorraine, Evelyn, and Maye.

Survivors include brothers Maynard, Vernon and Edmond, sisters, Gloria, Delores, and Karen.

Veronica was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Superior and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Iron River, Wis. She was very active in community and church activities.

Veronica married Raymond Levine and celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2003. Children are Raymond A. Jr., Gregory T., and Gary S. (Lillian); seven Grand children, Chris, Renae, Joy, Matt, Nate, Becca, and Scott, and several great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5821 John Ave. in Superior Wis., Saturday, February 6th 2010. There will be a visitation at 10:00 am and funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Garnatz as officiant. A social time will follow the service at Bethel with an interment following at Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorne WI.

Pallbearers will be her seven grandchildren.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
