Victoria "Vicki" R. Lewis-Hay, of Superior, WI, and formerly Cornucopia WI, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, March 30, 2026. She was 76 years old.

Vicki was born in Edina, MN on May 9, 1949, the middle child of Philip and Vivian (Ryan) Lewis. Vicki attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic School and graduated from Edina High School.

She went on to college in Denver and Montana State and graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN earning her Master's Degree in Education. Vicki worked as a Special Education teacher for over 40 years.

To know Vicki was to love her. She was fun, witty, kind, occasionally irreverent and always full of life. With sparkling blue-green eyes she inherited her mother's Irish humor and her father's hardworking ethic. Fiercely independent, she never-the-less agreed to share her life with her beloved "Art Project" and they eloped in 1989 to be married in the foothills of the Bear Tooth Mountains in Montana.

Vicki loved nature, animals, reading, needlepoint, her family and friends and her students. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and maintained lifelong friendships from her grade school years, Camp Hillaway summers, St. Croix Camp days and her career in public school. She treasured the 33 years she lived near the big lake, her home in Cornucopia, and the devoted friends she made there.

Vicki never aspired to greatness but with her humor, kindness, generosity, and love she achieved greatness in the eyes of those who were lucky enough to know her. She brought joy to life and what a profound legacy that is. She will be missed but remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Lewis; beautiful sister-in-law, Kathy Lewis; sweet nephew, Philip Wesely and brilliant nephew, Matt Gall.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Art; siblings, Sally (Tim) Olsen, Pat Lewis, and Mike (Gail) Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family, most notably Carolyn and Doug Helgevold, Brooke and Peter, and Ross and Abby and family.

A Celebration of Vicki's Life will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026, from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Central Pub, 1001 Belknap St., Superior, WI.
