SUPERIOR
Viola E. Sayler, 92, of Superior, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center Hospice, Duluth.
She was born February 10, 1917 in Superior, daughter of Trena (Rasmussen) and Earl Stickel.
Early in her professional career, Viola was a teacher in North Dakota. She later left teaching to pursue nursing and worked as a LPN in various clinics, hospitals and nursing homes.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Joanne Daley in 1994; and two brothers, Howard Stickel in 1986 and Robert Stickel in 1990.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Marvin, Superior; sons, Chester (Marilyn) Sayler, Superior, and Lloyd Sayler, Superior; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Reverend Gary Garnatz, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, Superior, will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Superior.
