Violet 'Tuppy'
Marie Sanda
May 6, 1944 – September 17, 2024
Violet Marie "Tuppy" Sanda, 80, passed peacefully at Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth, MN on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, in the presence of her husband and dear loved ones.
Violet was born May 6th, 1944 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Harriet and Walter Cheselski. Violet attended Patzau School and graduated from Superior Central High School in 1962 and later worked 10 years as a Nursing Assistant at the Parkland Health Facility. She devoted most of her life to her family as a stay-at-home mother and eventually grandmother.
On December 6th, 1963, Violet shared vows with Leo, going on to spend the next nearly 61 years by each other's sides. They built a life in South Range, WI, raising 5 boys. Leo says she was his lucky draw.
She enjoyed gardening, thrifting, cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, and her Thursday Coffee dates with special friends; but nothing compared to the joy she found in spending time with her family.
Violet is survived by her husband, Leo A. Sanda; five sons, Leo Wayne (Anne), Bryan Walter, Thomas David, Daniel Carl, and Andrew William (Kristin); sister, Sharon (Wayne) Johnstad; brother, Walter "Sonny" Cheselski; grandchildren, Sarah (Brandon) Sanda, Amanda (Zane) Sanda, Mike Lambert, Tracy Lambert, Crystal (Chris) Boyd, Cole Sanda, Evelyn (Corky) Schimming, Cody Sanda, Dylan Sanda, Mystique Sanda, Daniel B. Sanda, Stephanie Sanda, Tiphanie (Derek) Stromberg, Andrew Sanda, Cheyenne (Joe) Curtiss, Ryenne Stone, and Jaydon Stone; great grandchildren, Bella, Zoey, Myla, Jackson, Peyton, Amaya, Zane, Gavin, Gabby, Geno, Logan, Carter, Nolan, Teyah, Kade, Blakely, Lillian, Lee, and Gordon; many other special nieces/nephews, family, and friends, who all meant the world to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia (Dean) Frikart; brothers, Gary (Janice) Cheselski, and Robert (Linda) Cheselski; sister-In-Law, Tish Cheselski.
Violet was a very selfless woman who loved fiercely and unconditionally. She left an ever-lasting imprint on the lives of all family and friends and will forever be missed.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 1 P.M. on Sunday, September 29th at Parkland Town Hall, 6221 Veterans Drive in South Range. Please come enjoy a luncheon and share your memories of our dear Violet Marie. A private burial will be held at a later date at Summit Cemetery in Foxboro, WI.
