Virginia Jane Everson, 88, died Mon., June 23, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, Minn.
She was born Apr. 3, 1926 in the family home in Superior to Bessie (Vanderwalker) and Walter A. Walters. She was a 1944 graduate of Superior Central High School and she remained a lifelong resident of Superior.
On Aug. 23, 1947 she and Virgil Marvin Everson were united in marriage in Christ Lutheran Church.
Virginia was a longtime member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was currently an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and it's Esther Circle. She was a volunteer at the Cooper Elementary School and also at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Superior of Hospital.
She is remembered by her husband Virgil; children, Terry (Pam) Everson of Madison, Wis., Tim (Mary) Everson of Spokane, Wash., Nancy (Greg) McGarry of St. Francis, Minn., and twins, Douglas (Carolyn) Everson of Montclair, N. J., and David (Patti) Everson of Mosinee, Wis.; grandchildren, Melissa Jane, Scott, Neil, Nicole, Jason, Michael, Ryan, Kevin, Eric, Christine, Andrew, and twins, Taylor and Kennedy; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Walters; and sisters, Elsie O'Brien and Gladys Tocts; a special friend, Connie Purinton; and her beloved Scottie, Molly.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, George, Sidney, and Jamie Walters; and sisters, Bessie Follis, Ethel Winslow, and Millie Walters.
A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sat., June 28th in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Ave. and continue until Virginia's memorial service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sarah Kerkes officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
If desired, memorials in Virginia's name may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
