Obituary

Virginia Mae Trentor, 89 of Superior, WI, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Monday September 25, 2023, at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN, surrounded by loving family.

Virginia was born on July 31, 1934, to Inez (Ames) and David Hill in Solon Springs, WI.

She married John Trentor on July 5, 1955, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Superior, WI.  They were happily married for 48 years before his death in September 2003.

Virginia will be remembered for her magnetic and loving personality. If you were fortunate enough to be part of her inner circle you had a faithful friend for life. If you wanted to become part of her large inner circle it would cost you nothing more than a warm smile or good joke. Virginia loved to laugh and make others laugh. She always welcomed anyone into her home with understanding, a hot cup of coffee and delicious meal.

Above all, Virginia was extremely passionate about her family and family legacy. She treasured her two daughters and two sons, adored her nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many godchildren, all with an undeniable and never-ending flow of love and compassion.

Virginia attended First Covenant Church, Superior, WI; member of the Eagles Club and was employed over the years by many grocery stores throughout the Duluth, Superior area. She was a devoted and avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan, spending many hours on the phone with her sons and daughters discussing the outcome of games.  Never one to withhold her opinion, these conversations were always both interesting and humorous. She also enjoyed bowling and her talent was on display in several leagues over the years.

In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; Inez and David Hill; sisters, Maryann Aspinwall, Jean Ahrendt, Neda Pederson, Evelyn Galatz, Bonnie McClelland; and brothers, David Hill, Donald Hill, and Victor Hill.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (John) Merriam, and Kerri Trentor; her sons, John (Connie) Trentor and Douglas (Sheri) Trentor; her grandchildren, John Merriam, Kevin Turner, Michelle Weber, Shane (Karlie Larson) Trentor, Rachel (Kevin) Duhe, Andrew (Alexis) Trentor, Alex Trentor, Averie Trentor and Arika Trentor; her great grandchildren, Jaxon Trentor, Noah Lindberg, Sutton Duhe and Rylee Duhe; her sisters, Judy (Wesley) Koehler and Debra (Curt) Perry; sister in-laws, Judy Hill, and Joyce Hill.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Ave., Superior, WI, with a visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.
