Walter E. Kirshtner, 73, of Superior, died Monday May 4, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Walter was born on June 20, 1946 in Aurora, IL the son of Edith (Stogentine) and Ernest Kirshtner.
He served his country enlisting in the US Air Force. He had worked in sales at Superior Lidgerwood Mundy for 27 years and then at United Health Care for a year before retiring due to health reasons. He was a 45-year member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Superior.
Walter loved being at the family cabin on Lake Namekagon and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was a rockhound who collected many rocks, including agates. He also enjoyed oil painting. Most important to him was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, DeLorr 'Dee'; a baby boy; and brothers, Bob (Diann) and Rich Kirshtner.
Walter is survived by his daughters, Kim (Edward) Willie of Superior and Connie (Rob) Morehouse of Superior; grandchildren, Caden and Sam Willie and Keely and Joe Morehouse; brother Ernie (Mary) Kirshtner of Oxnard, CA; sister-in-law, Marie Kirshtner of Montgomery, IL; nephews, Mark Kirshtner of Cable, WI and David (Shana) Kirshtner of Montgomery, IL; brother-in-law, Ed (Cindy) Pacholke of Rice Lake, WI; and nieces and nephews, Cory, Cara, Curt, Kelly, Patrick, Shannon, Kathleen and Timothy.
Due to COVID-19 and the Governor's mandates a private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Veteran's Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
A Celebration of Walter's Life will be held at a later date.
