Wayne E. Johnson, 86, of Lake Nebagamon, peacefully went home to his Lord and savior on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 while in the loving care of Twin Ports Health Services.

Wayne was born in Superior on Jan 12, 1934 to Mary and Erick Johnson.

He was a member of House of Hope Church in Lake Nebagamon. He enjoyed woodworking, carving, and Boss, his dog. He was also a member of the Studebaker car club for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dale Johnson and great-grandson Joshua Lawer.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth; children, Warren (Tammy) Johnson of Madison, Ron Johnson of Lake Nebagamon, Lola Johnson of Connecticut, Dennis (Wendie) Johnson of Solon Springs, and Eric (Jill) Johnson of Adrian, MI; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Bob Anderson.

A private graveside service will be held in Bennett Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.

A public memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
