William 'Bill' C. Sampson, Jr., of Superior, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Essentia Health in Duluth.

He was born on March 14, 1943, in Superior, the son of William and Margaret Sampson, Sr. He married Susan Ebmer and they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Bill was a manager for Target, working there for 38 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and in his garage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Debora Sampson and Julie LaPorte; and siblings, Harvey, Bob, Marion, Betty and John.

Bill is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Pam (Tom) Middleton and Ken 'Skinny' Sampson, both of Superior; grandchildren, Tom Bierd, Trenton Sampson, Colten (Kristen) Middleton, Chelsy Middleton, Chase Middleton, and Conner Middleton; great-grandchildren, Brian Sampson and Ava Sampson; sister, Lou Regenfuss; and brother, Jim Sampson.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th St. Pastor Jenny Armstrong will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

A reception will be held following the graveside beginning at 3:00 p.m. at VIP Pizza, 1201 Tower Ave., Superior.
