William (Bill) Edgar Cronin, 82, Superior, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Bill was born on May 29, 1941, in Superior, WI, to William "John" and Jeanne Cronin.

Bill was in the United States Navy and a Superior Police Department Sergeant retiring after 25 years of service. He was previously active in the American Legion Honor Guard, Board Member of the Superior Municipal Credit Union, Fraternal Order of Police, and in the past held many officer positions in the Elks Lodge.

Bill married his former wife Inez Kvisler and together they had four daughters. Later in life he married Marion (Burbal) Kunert, and she brought to the union her three children. Marion passed away recently on October 31, 2023.

Bill lived in Superior his entire life with the exception of several years in Chesapeake, VA, after his retirement and then returned to Superior to care for his mother. Bill enjoyed traveling, boating, and was very active in the Elks Lodge.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marion, and brother John T. Cronin.

He is survived by his children, Wendy, Linda (Kyle) Brandt, Stacey (Tom) Frankovich, and Billie Jo (Ron Schroeder); Marion's children, Lyle (Lori) Kunert, Joe (Tracy) Kunert and Melissa (Mark) Isabella; Bill's sister, Cheryl (Al) Henegar of California, brother, Timothy Cronin of Superior; Marion's siblings, Susan (John) McBride, Chesapeake, VA, David Fredrick, Melanie (Rex) Pitts, Dallas, TX, and Perry (Theresa) Garner, Chesapeake, VA. Together Bill and Marion had 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and three greats on the way. Bill was very proud of his large family and loved them all equally and deeply. Bill will be remembered as gentle and kind to all he came in contact with.

The family would like to say a special thanks to SPD's Eastman brothers. Their kindness, professionalism, and courtesy escort for our father to the funeral home was much appreciated.

Graveside services at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with Gary Banker officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435, and Police Honors by the Superior Police Department.
