William O. Wiesner, 64, of Superior, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Duluth, MN.
He was born December 3, 1946 in Superior, son of Wilford and Mildred (Matthison) Wiesner.
Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy.
Bill retired from Douglas County, where he worked many years as a child support officer.
Some of Bill's many interests included fishing, boating, small engine repair, antique clock repair, travel, bargain shopping and spending time in Florida. However, his greatest love was being a parent.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and sister, Barbara A. Erickson.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Namaste, Duluth; daughter, Carrie (Rickie Wilson) Wiesner, North Pole, Alaska; step-son, John Namaste, Duluth; sister, Pamela Sue "Suzi" Wiesner, Englewood, FL; brother, Thomas Wiesner, Lake Nebagamon, WI; and a beloved niece, nephew and 2 grand-nephews.
The visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the noon memorial service, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Darrell Kyle of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
Inurnment will be held in the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery,with military rites accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post # 435, at a later date.
