Jeff Cushman
Funeral Director
Jeff was born and raised in the twin ports, growing up in Superior and graduating from Superior Senior High School in 1997. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 2005. Jeff is a licensed funeral director in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. After working in funeral homes in the Chicago area for three years he returned to Superior and began working at Downs Funeral Home in December of 2006. Jeff and his wife, Candy and their daughter, Aili live in Superior.

Steve Elsmore

Steve was born and raised in Duluth, MN graduated from Denfeld High School in 1987. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Superior in 1994 and University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science in 1995. Steve is a licensed funeral director in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has worked the majority of his career in Minnesota and began working at Downs Funeral Home March of 2022. Steve and his wife Paddy, and their children, Anika and Neil live in Esko, MN.

Glen Novack
Funeral Director
Glen was born and raised in Superior and graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1987. After High School he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth before attending Worsham College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1994. Glen is a licensed funeral director in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He started his career in Superior and spent time in Hudson, WI, Prescott, AZ, the Twin Cities and Cloquet, MN. After a several year break, he began working for Downs Life Celebration Center in December of 2025. It is an honor to once again be serving the families in his hometown. Glen and his wife Rhonda currently live in Billings Park. They have raised four children, Ally (Hunter), Dmitri, Becca (Aaron) and Landen. They also have two grandchildren, Levi and Paisley.

Marie Alm
Office Manager
Marie was born and raised in Superior and graduated from Maranatha Academy in 2003. She attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (now known as Northwood Technical College) and graduated in 2005 with an Associate’s Degree in the Administrative Assistant Program. She resides in Superior with her husband, Matt, and their two sons.

Anika grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Esko High School. Anika is a licensed funeral director apprentice and plans on continuing her education in mortuary science. She enjoys downhill skiing and traveling in her spare time.

Bob DeMeyer
Funeral Director's Assistant
Bob was born and raised in Superior and a graduate of Superior High School and the University of Wisconsin Superior. He is a recently retired teacher and coach, working both in the Maple School District at Northwestern Middle School and in the Superior School District at Superior High School. Bob has been working with Downs Life Celebration Center since August of 2024. He and his wife Traci raised three daughters (Abbie, Lanie, Sydnie) in Superior and currently reside in Barnes, WI.

Bob was born and raised in Superior and a graduate of Superior High School and the University of Wisconsin Superior. Dan was born and raised in Superior, attended Superior schools and retired from the School District of Superior after 35 years of service. Later he worked as a funeral director’s assistant for Lenroot and LeSage Funeral Homes and is excited to join the team at Downs Life Celebration Center. Dan and his wife Julianna enjoy the tranquil, quietude of country living, but more so the bustle and chaos of grandkids’ sleepovers.

Pete Raboin, Sr.

Pete was born in Hibbing, MN and grew up in Superior, graduating from Superior Senior High School in 1970. He also attended and graduated from UWS with a BS degree in Business in 1976. Pete hired onto the BNSF railroad in September of 1978 and worked there until his retirement in January of 2012. He started working at Downs in October 2024. Pete and his wife Linda, who currently live in Billings Park, raised three children, Pete, Steve and Trisha.

Pete hired onto the BNSF railroad in September of 1978 and worked there until his retirement in January of 2012. He started working at Downs in October 2024. Pete and his wife Linda, who currently live in Billings Park, raised three children, Pete, Steve and Trisha.
